Dr. Imber has continued to serve as a Professor of Special Education as well as an consultant to parents and schools, advocate, independent educational evaluator and as an expert witness. His testimony has been given in federal court, special education hearings, and in superior court for matters of criminal defense. Dr. Imber has also testified as an expert on matters concerning custody and parental termination of rights. He has also testified in matters pertaining to Family Court on behalf of children or adolescents with special needs.
Dr. Imber has been a presenter at many regional and national conferences. He has published numerous articles with various issues pertaining to learning and emotional treatment of students with disabilities. He has special expertise with regard to federal and state regulations on special education including independent educational evaluations, Office of Special Education Program policy opinions and case law on independent educational evaluations.
Dr. Imber earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology with honors from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was involved in doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at the University of Connecticut. He earned a Master's degree from the Department of Educational Psychology with a focus on Learning Disabilities at The University of Connecticut. He completed his doctoral degree from the Department of Educational Psychology with a focus on Emotional and Behavior Disorders at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Imber has served as an expert in cases involving children and adolescents with disabilities including autism (Asperger’s Syndrome), ADHD, Behavioral and Emotional Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury and Visual Impairment. Dr. Imber has worked on cases with children, adolescents and adults with a broad array of disabilities.
